शिक्षा के बाजारीकरण के खिलाफ एक हो!

शिक्षा के बाजारीकरण के खिलाफ जन आन्दोलनों के राष्ट्रिय समन्वय (एनएपीएम) ने एक ऑन लाइन पिटीशन जारी किया है। मैग्सेसे पुरस्कार से सम्मानित आंदोलनकारी डॉ संदीप पांडे की ओर जारी इस पिटीशन में उन्होंने कहा है की शिक्षा बाजारू उत्पाद नहीं है। इलाहबाद विश्वविद्यालय में पत्रकारिता विभाग के समान्तर बी ए इन मीडिया स्टडीज की निजी दुकान खोली जा रही है। अपील में छात्र आन्दोलन का समर्थन करते हुए कुलपति राजेन हर्षे से मुख्य कोर्स को ही पर्याप्त फंड उपलब्ध करने की मांग की गई है. एनएपीएम के इस आभियान से आप भी जुड़े और आन्दोलन को मजबूती प्रदान करे.

Dear friends,
The decision of Prof Rajan Harshe, Vice Chancellor, Allahabad University, to launch a self-financed B।A। in Media Studies programme through the in-house Institute for Profession Studies (IPS) in spite of the presence of an independent Department of Journalism and Mass Communication in Allahabad University has invoked strong protest from the students, faculty and intellectuals outside. The objective of IPS was to generate resources for Allahabad University. But since Allahabad University (AU) has become a central university, it is not even able to utilize its full grant for the year.
We believe education is not a market commodity and abovementioned initiative of Prof Rajan Harshe, is privatization of education at the cost of diluting quality and demoralizing an already existing Department by floating a parallel programme.
We urge Prof Rajan Harshe to resist the temptation of privatization and strengthen the mainstream programmes with central funding available to him.
We support the ongoing struggle on and outside the campus of Allahabad University (AU) against privatization of education and express solidarity with the struggling students and faculty members on campus.
